The latest comparison charts that have appeared on the Internet are seemingly clarifying how Samsung is intending to set the Galaxy S26 and S26+ apart from the existing Galaxy S25 series thereby giving support to the notion of these changes next year as nothing more than gradual hardware changes.
The information that was leaked by the famed leaker, Ice Universe, indicates that Samsung is maintaining the design and functions of S25 family products to a large extent, while only changing a few of their internal parts.
According to the datasets that were leaked, while the standard Galaxy S26 will probably be equipped with a display that is slightly larger, the peak brightness and refresh rate are said to correspond with that of the S25. The RAM size is expected to be the same, and the camera specifications are mentioned as being the same as the previous model.
On the other hand, the battery of the S26 is going to be quite a bit changed as compared to the S25, with the former said to be 300mAh more than the latter, but there has been no mention of charging speeds being affected. The storage options are also undergoing a shift—Samsung might discontinue the 128GB base tier and start the range with 256GB, just like the S25, which will also have a maximum of 512GB.
There could be a slight change in the dimensions as well. The S26 is claimed to be slightly thinner and a few grams heavier, which is most probably due to the updated chipset that is central to the upgrade.
The second table that has been dealing with the bigger S26+ says that it is even closer to the S25+. The same is the case with display size, resolution, peak brightness, refresh rate, memory options, storage caps, battery size, and charging support.
So the only differences that were pointed out are the new chipset and a slight increase in weight—approximately 4 grams—with the thickness of the frame staying the same as before.
What this suggests for Samsung's 2026 flagships
In case these leaks are correct, Samsung's upcoming flagship duo might adopt a continuity-first principle, updating only the main processor and keeping the majority of the hardware the same. This move would classify the S26 series as an enhancement cycle rather than a major overhaul.
Samsung hasn't said anything regarding the leak, and the firm usually keeps ultimate specs secret until its yearly Galaxy Unpacked event.
